[Discussion] Should everyone be installing Linux on top of LVM? Is there any downside to this?

I've seen a lot of posts online advocating for LVM, because it allows you to take snapshots and do live filesystem resizing.

Is there any downside to LVM, or should I learn how to do this for all my future Linux installs?
