Stanford just uploaded over 6 hours of lectures on games, design, development etc on YouTube.

Just have to say it - having Bioshock Infinite on Linux is really amazing

Yes, port has some issues, yes, performance is not fully yet there, but I don't care that much as it allowed me to enjoy it without reboot to Windows. It looks amazing (with Ultra settings), especially some later parts of the story.

I have to say I kinda start to like porting choices developers and companies make - so far majority of those are games I wanted to play on LInux.

GitHub or Bitbucket?

I study CS, and one of my professors suggested I started using one of those for my homework projects. The thing is, I'd really like for my projects to be private (I know, I know, open source is love, open source is life, but this is my homework), and I can't find anywhere whether GitHub charges for private projects or not. Any suggestions? Thanks! Edit: grammar

Pillars of Eternity is ready!

was one of the backers and just successfully started the game (needed very long to extract the data, but it seems this happens on all platforms.) I'm still in the title menu but everything smooth so far ;)

AAA game engines are all free - Are we still relevant?

The game development industry just got hit by a tidalwave of free. Unity 5, Unreal Engine 4 and Source 2 all give away their flagship product for free now. They’re all different brands of free, but who cares? The average game developer certainly won’t.

Which left us wondering: Are hobbyist-run open source game engines like jMonkeyEngine still relevant?

How to easily aggregate the favourites of other Flickr users?

A long time ago, using Yahoo pipes, I created a set of RSS feeds that pulled in the favourites of a couple of photographers whose style I admired.

It was quite a process setting it up, but it was an awesome way to be exposed to great new photographs and photographers.

I'd love to do it again and was wondering if anyone knew of an easier way to achieve something similar?

SUSE Studio-I highly recommend

Hi, this has probably been posted before, but I want to tell people who haven't found out about it. SUSE Studio is a custom builder for OpenSUSE, allowing you to customize things like graphics, installation packages, and backgrounds, among others. Find it here. I've built quite a few very nice systems, so I recommend you use it too. Have fun in your quest to build an awesome version of OpenSUSE easily!

BTW, I'm not trying to advertise, I just highly recommend the software, so sorry if it comes off differently. Have a nice day!
